Woodstock Hospital is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive environment for all patients, employees and visitors, and to meeting the standards outlined in the province's Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
Wheelchairs are available at all entrances to our hospital. Anyone needing assistance with a wheelchair can also dial "0" on any of our hospital telephones to speak with switchboard and request a wheelchair.
Service Animals are also welcome on our property. Patients or visitors should carry proof of the service animal’s status in the form of a letter signed by a physician or nurse. You are encouraged to discuss bringing the service animal with you when booking your first appointment with our hospital staff.
Woodstock Hospital requests patients bring with them assistive devices they use to carry out everyday activities when accessing care and services. Woodstock Hospital makes reasonable efforts to ensure that patients with disabilities can use their assistive devices while in the organization. Assistive devices include (but are not limited to): wheelchairs, hearing aids, adaptive computer technologies, walkers, crutches, and personal sound amplification devices.
Woodstock Hospital welcomes support people who accompany patients with disabilities to hospital premises. Reasonable efforts will be made to ensure that people with disabilities have access to their support person except where the safety of a person is a risk. If the support person cannot accompany the person with the disability, staff ensures measures are available for the person to obtain, use and benefit from care and services.
