The Critical Care Unit is comprised of 12 beds that allow for treatment of patients with life-threatening injuries and illnesses.
Care is provided by a multidisciplinary team which includes Physiciansphysicians, Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Physiotherapists, Pharmacists, Dietitians, Social Workers, Spiritual Care Personnel, Laboratory staff, and Occupational Therapistsregistered nurses, respiratory therapists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, dietitians, social workers, spiritual care personnel, laboratory staff, and occupational therapists. With a focus on quality patient care, the unit is appointed with state-of-the-art equipment and technologies.
Programs embedded within daily practice in Critical Care include but are not limited to: Antimicrobial Stewardship, Trillium Gift of Life, Infection Prevention and Control, as well as bedside transfer of accountability
