Woodstock General Hospital has over 200 volunteers who govern, raise funds and deliver customer service and support.
Our volunteer team offers a helping hand to make the patients’ stay more pleasant.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering provides many lifelong experiences and memories. By volunteering at Woodstock General Hospital, you can:
- Become involved in your community.
- Share your knowledge, talents and interest with others
- Meet new people and network with other volunteers
- Gain practical work experience or explore a new career
- Attend various educational workshops
- Obtain references for employment, scholarships, bursaries, etc.

Requirements:

- Submit an Application Form, including three references (other than family members).
- Complete a Health Review Form, including your immunization history.
- Attend an interview with the Coordinator of Volunteer Services.
- Complete a two-step T.B. skin test prior to commencing volunteer work.
- Participate in an orientation session.
- Provide a minimum commitment of 6 months to one year, or 60 hours for students.
- Participate in educational sessions, training opportunities or departmental meetings as required.

We are looking for volunteers who:

- Enjoy working with minimal direction.
- Can act indepentently within the boundaries outlined in your position description.
- Have energy and enthusiasm.
- Enjoy working with people and helping others.
- Are honest and reliable.
- Are serious about making a volunteer commitment.

Submitting an application package and attending an interview does not guarantee a volunteer placement.

We are currently seeking volunteers to assist with:
- On-Call
- Complex Continuing Care- meal assistance & program activities
- Emergency Department
- Medical- Surgical Units
- Patient Escort (Thursday's 1-3pm)
- Surgical Daycare (Friday's)
- Dialysis (Tuesday & Thursday mornings) NEW!
